We asked Animals 2 U a few questions about their services and more information about their Mobile Petting Zoo in Victoria, read below to find out more about the wonderful stuff they are doing for these animals & click here to see their profile listing / contact them.

Q: What events do you specialize in & what areas do you cover?

A: We specialise in the following events & cover all of Victoria and some parts of NSW close to the border.

  • Birthday parities
  • Agricultural Shows
  • Corporate or Council Events
  • Housing village openings
  • Aged care visits
  • University stress less and RU OK days
  • Photo Shoots, family and business

Q: What animals do you have & are the kids allowed to touch/play with the animals (and ride the ponies/ miniature horses)?

A: Yes all the animals are friendly and the children can interact with them.

We have 12 Different Species of Animals:

  • Lambs
  • Kid goats
  • Bunnies
  • Guinea Pigs
  • Alpaca or tiny mini pony for petting (or a larger pony if we have rides booked)
  • Ducks
  • Goose
  • Chickens
  • Farm Cat

  • Working Dog
  • Miniature Trick horses

Q: Do the animals bite or are they safe with kids (and what ages?)

A: All the animals are friendly, they have been hand raised, most of them have been rescued or adopted, and the children can interact with them, without the fear of being bitten.

Q: Do you have different packages available or do you have a set price per event?

A: We have many different options, and prices to suit most needs and budgets.  We can also tailor parties to individual needs, e.g. Peter Rabbit Party, Fairy and Unicorn Pony parties.

Q: Are the animals all rescued animals? Do they get scared around so many kids?

A: 90% of our animals are hand raised rescues (lambs, alpaca and kids) or adopted, dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, etc, they do not get scared around children, people are amazed that we have a cat in our farms and how friendly and tolerant they are to the noise and other livestock around them, and we also provide an animal rest area for large groups so the animals can move away to their own space if they need a break, and the animals are so smart and, know exactly where it is and regularly use it, coming in and out of the space.

Q: What makes Animals 2 U unique and different from any other petting zoo?

A: We have humane transport, (not hot trailers) our vans are air conditioned in the front and the rear of the vehicle, the animals have their own separate air conditioner in the rear to ensure they do not get too cold or too hot.

We also have evaporative cooling in the small animal area on our farm to keep the animals cool on those 30 – 40 degree days.

We provide logs and natural habitat for animals at home on the farm.

We are constantly rescuing baby lambs that have been rejected by their mums, or orphaned, and they come to us with broken limbs, phenomena and eye conditions and we nurse them back to health, they require round the clock care, sometimes feeding them every couple of ours and throughout the night.

We do not receive any government funding to help all the animals we take in, and we take in a lot more animals than what we bring out on our mobile farm visits, any donations from the public that we receive go directly to helping more animals.

We ensure our animals are vaccinated and wormed regularly, this is why they always look so healthy, people always comment on how healthy they look

We keep our baby and young animals inside special designed stables and yards, that are indoors (away form preditors), some even have rubber floors to insulate the animals form the cold floor, and we also invest a LOT of money in bedding, (straw, sawdust) to ensure the animals are warm and comfortable.

Cleaning is a weekly routine, to ensure our animals are in a clean environment.

We receive lots of comments about how clean our animals look.

We were the first farm to implement safe holding of animals in baskets, so that small animals are not mishandled, overhanded and dropped if they accidentally scratch due to mishandling.

We also have low seats in the farm, and children must be seated to hold an animal in a basket, so that if the animals was to jump out, it would not hurt itself.

We do not cancel jobs on people for more lucrative ones, if we ever need to cancel, it’s because we are in hospital.

We regularly service our vehicles to ensure that breakdowns or issues that can prevent us from arriving at a job are kept at a minimum (only 2 incidents in 7 years and only 1 cancellation), we have a very good track record when it comes to reliability.

We do not smoke and ensure that children that visit our farm are in a smoke free environment.

We are very transparent and have a video that explains how our animals are transported, trained and kept on the farm, as well as how they are transported.
